So this is an answer to the original problem… What is strange is that it worked fine with the old hard drive, and it showed me the sad iPod symbol. So I can't understand why I have this problem now.

What should I do then ? Because It seems to come from the motherboard, right ?

The last guy that talked to me about this issue, fixed it by unplugging the battery and reconnecting it.

What iPod model and is your a ZIF Drive?

Is it safe to guess that you have a ZIF Drive?

For those of us that have SATA, search eSnay for '24-Pin ZIF to SATA Adapter Connector Card'.

For about $3 you get a ZIF Adapter Card with a ZIF ribbon cable that appears to be about 6" long.

Standard 24 PIN SATA ZIF connector
Standard input SATA-22Pin (7+15 pin)
No capacity limited of the SATA ZIF HDD installment

Now you can access your ZIF drives without iTunes etc.

Hope this helps someone!
