Would like another iPod just for music...

...and I would like to keep it simple as possible. Is there an iPod that is at least 32GB and does not show album covers just display title artist and album title. And will play albums as whole and will shuffle albums as well as songs. Will not do like this iPad does which is take a group of songs from the same exact album and treat them as separate albums even though the tags are perfectly labeled.

No such iPod exists anymore. Album shuffle does not exist in Apple’s world, they never implemented that.

Most people that talk about Album Shuffle mean the player picks a random album and plays all tracks in order for the album. This has never been implemented in an Apple product.

Shuffling within an album works just fine on any Apple product.

That’s what mine did. And I used to play albums like that on my iPod over night. i would put several complete albums on a playlist and put it on shuffle albums and it would pick a random album and play all the songs in order and after the last song another random album is played. I did that a lot as well as shuffle songs. I’d like to send you a photo of what I’m talking about but unfortunately photos won’t load on here any more. (Another topic)

I have been supporting other people's iTunes and iPods for 13 years now, and this feature is something that has been desired since it was removed starting with the 3rd generation Nano in 2007. Since then there was no way to shuffle by album and play all the tracks in the album. I highly doubt anyone has a working 2nd generation Nano lying around. It is not clear that the 2nd gen Nano really did this either, just claims that is what it did back in 2006.

We have tried to create album shuffle through smart playlists, with no success. There was a method where you select all the tracks from several albums into a playlist, then shuffle that playlist on album to get it to work, but it is limited to the albums selected only. No dynamic selection of albums solution exists.

Either way, I think you are out of luck.

The iPod that was stolen it was an iPod classic and it had album shuffle. I know because I shuffled albums on it. I got Jan 2011. I know it may not exist now though. Which is somewhat a relief.
