Wi-Fi question

I am an existing AT&T customer, and have had my iPhone for about a year now. I was wondering if I were to cancel my data plan (AT&T said I could), would the Wi-Fi function still work? I very rarely every use the AT&T network, as I have Wi-Fi access at home, as well as work, and really see no need for the extra expense.

yes you would still be able to use wifi on the phone. I would double check with att, I'm pretty sure they don't just remove data plans, that is something that is mandatory with the iPhone. Unless you are switching to a different device all together I can't see them letting you remove the data plan.
