I sent my damn iPod in November 7th, they recieved it the 8th, it took them 10 ******* days to find a problem, and ordered a replacement on the 17th. Why the HELL haven't I received one yet? They haven't even shipped the damn thing.

And to make matters even more joyous, they cut me off everytime I try and ask for help over the phone. I get some monkey on the other line not knowing what I'm talking about, he redirects me, I wait 45 minutes, and then I disconnected.

I'm seriously considering calling my lawyer. Damn customer negligence

Ask them for appeasement - they sent be a dock, in-ear headphones, video cable and an extra slip case (kind that came with teh iPod). definatly make sure u get something! they kno u deserve it!

but at the end of the day, no iPod. Today i called, and the woman talked to dispatch and said that my ipod was scheduled to ship on the 24th. dunno if i buy that its gonna ship christmas eve, but meh, wut can i do

if you're expecting a replacement to show up instantly during the holiday season i think you'll be sorely disappointed. there simply aren't that many iPods or people to pack them into the boxes and ship the things to you.

i think your lawyer will tell you there's nothing he can do. it's an iPod, it's not like apple is witholding thousands of dollars of things you ordered, they're replacing an item that you filed a warranty claim for. at no point in your warranty contract does it state a time frame for a repair/replacement to be received. apple can take its sweet time. that said, call them and say you are expecting a replacement and you would like to at least know WHY it hasn't shipped yet. if the guy says he doesn't know, ask to speak to his supervisor. it's really simple if you stay calm and don't act like you're speaking to a "monkey."

Actually, the apple site says "two to three weeks" for engraved ipod replacements. And when apple sends people products taht dont work from day one, itd just be polite for them to put your order infront of apple store orders - but they just dont.

Another damn nightmare. I was able to get through three nights ago, the guy tells me it would be shipped on the following Monday. Monday comes, no shipment.

I call again today, and the lady then tell me it ships on the 26th. I asked to know why I was lied to, she politely says "we're backordered", and then the line cuts.

I'm calling them again today, just to see if I get another BS date. I'll bet my non-existent iPod that the stupid thing doesn't ship the 26th.

^no, that's how long it takes to recieve a NEW engraved iPod from apple. RMA returns have no timeline as far as i can tell, and it wouldn't be smart of them to list one as it can take some time to repair a device if things are backlogged.

if they're backordered there isn't anything anyone can do. you can make it known that you expect your replacement to go out in front of any store orders but it is the holidays and things are always crazy this time of year. it's an inventory management nightmare, so i'm inclined to chalk it up to bad luck and hope once the xmas rush ends in a few days things will be back to normal.

I'm not sure if this is good or bad, but for some reason my repair status online no longer exists. Does this mean they shipped it?

I have to go do some shopping now, later I'll call them again. If they say the order doesn't exist I'm going to flip.

Nevermind, for some reason it is now back up, still pending.

Let me guess, you either have your or just sent yours away a week ago? Sure fella. When yours is 2 months delayed, then call me. It takes a little bit of common sense to realise when you pay 300+ for something, you expect it back promptly.

That date they gave me, the 26th, another bogus one. I called them today again, asked to speak to a supervisor. He eventually offered me a free upgrade from a black 30GB to a black 60 GB. I guess whining pays off, huh fizzle, #######. He also said my iPod would ship with a Universal dock, the AV cables, POwer dapter, in ear headphones, a camera connector, and an extra USB cable. Even though I can't really use any of this (I already have a Bose sound dock), it's something

The next date he gave me, the 28th, will most likely be bogus anyway, however.

I asked for the upgrade to 60gb and to get it picked up at a local apple store, cuz if i was getting an upgrade to 60gb, then i cud care less bout the engraving. everything i got is in the sig. if i had waited, maybe i cuda milked it for more, but im happy, i just wanted my ipod back, and now i have it :). specs are all in my sig.

btw, my next date was the 24th, then the 26th, then the 28th...i just cudnt take anymore of this crap - telling you they're on backorder when u can receive one from the apple store within 2weeks (or less!). just shows how much they care.

I didnt have any trouble with my recent iPod service.

9 days from reporting fault online to recieving a new one, that includes the time to send me the empty box, and over Xmas.
