What is the latest Version #?

I just got my mini late last afternoon. I have been jamming to it all night and I am loving it! I tried to run the update feature after downloading it from Apple's support download site. At first I couldn't get my windows to reboot properly after the install, so I am unsure if it installed proplerly.

I ran the update with the ipod plugged in, and it shows the version # to be version 1.4. Is that the latest version for a iPod 2nd gen. mini?

Well, if you downloaded the updater off the Apple website, then yes, that would be the latest updater.

You evidently don't get my question:

I was trying to find out because I am not sure that the updater program installed in Windows properly, and also that I am unsure that the updater installed on my iPod, because the instructions supposedly say that iTunes is involved, but iTunes did not open.

An answer to my question would have been nicer.

The latest version of iTunes is 5.0.1, and the latest version of the iPod mini software is 1.4 (iPod Updater 2005-09-23).
