• With the number of recent threads from brand new users that we have observed in our Classifieds forum selling goods under questionable circumstances, we have instituted a new policy restricting new members of iLounge from posting new threads in the Classifieds forum until they have reached "Regular Member" status.

New users become Regular Members once they have made 10 posts and been a member of the iLounge Forums for at least 7 days. Prior to this time, members may still read the Classifieds forum, and even respond to existing threads for items being sold by other members, but they may not create new threads advertising their own items for sale.

This will hopefully help to protect our user community by discouraging fraudulent users from signing up and posting classified ads without having at least a very basic level of established membership in our forums.

Obviously all users should still exercise due diligence when making use of our classifieds forums, but we hope that this restriction will help to decrease the number of blatantly fraudulent ads that we have been seeing in recent weeks.

Please be sure to review our Classified Forum Policy for more information.

Jobs IS the devil himself. He’s an egocentric, selfish ####### that people generally don’t like. If he didn’t make it with Apple, he’d be working for Sony!

Although obviously a joke, its going to be a reality soon enough in some sense.

What’s absolutely going to happen is that Apple OS will run on an Intel or AMD box in a couple of years basically turning Apple into a software and gadget company. OSX will run a small handful of Apple apps while most of the ‘Windows’ apps will run in a application shell. So in a few years the Macintel with OSX will be running mostly Windows 64 bit applications for the average consumer. Sure, some of the ‘better’ apps will be Apple but, well you know the rest.

Then why isn't Jobs with sony now considering the fact that apple was on hard times before the ipod.
?

Jobs would fit in with Sony at any time; they’re a bunch of selfish, arrogant #######s too!

In my office, I just got a AMD 64 Dual core 3800 with (2) 300GB SATA-150 in RAID with native command cuing running Windows XP Pro x64. Its VERY fast, smooth and rock solid. I’m VERY impressed so far. I run Abode CS2 suite, Adobe Premier Pro, Macromedia Suite and a multitude Office products and database apps. I replaced a P4e 3.0 in a similar configuration; the AMD64 x2 is somewhat faster overall and noticeably faster at multitasking.
BTW: It cost just under $1400 to build it! Including a Radeon 9600 Pro video card and with both DVD-RW and CDRW drives. All top shelf brands used.

AMD will have a 4 core 64bit CPU out the end of next year running at over 4800+.

The Apple OS is going to LOVE these machines, I can’t wait to get my first hacked OSX for Intel/AMD

He is also the man who inspired 3 of the greatest innovations in the last 20 years in the Apple II, Macintosh and iPod. Notice that after Steve left Apple, even Burrell Smith and Andy Hertzfeld admitted that they were last motivated back only in 1984. Notice that Woz hasn't done anything of repute since leaving Apple? One of the main reasons, you are sitting here typing on your AMD box, is because of an "egocentric, selfish #######". For your sake, read this and this and tell me he'd be working for Sony.

Secondly, you a prophet now? Or are you Bud Tribble in disguise trying to get back at Steve? Sure, EVERYONE knows that OS X will run on another box in a couple years. Chairman Bill said that in the 1980s, they pressured John Sculley to do it in the 1990s and Wired also ran an obituary on it in 1997, pleading them to license it out. ####, Steve has said it about a million and two times that this gives them better quality control when they build everything in house. Even Time ran an article on how effective it was barely a month ago. Read this.

Your ignorant posts just shows the absolute lack of depth you have on Apple Computer. The largest mistake that the mainstream media and people like you make is that Apple is just another company.

It's sure far as hell from that.

And lastly, it's Mac OS. It has been since 1984 and not Apple OS. It's like calling Windows, Microsoft OS

Don’t get your panties all in a bunch. What are you 15 years old? If not you certainly act like a child.

Who said I was posting on an AMD box?

Don’t assume anything!

My post was simple and short and didn’t make any proclamations nor did I insinuate any divine visions.

I’ll remember you and stand clear of your wrath, maybe I’ll even stay clear of this forum if this is the type of arrogance I can expect.

BTW: Jobs IS an arrogant #######, much like yourself.

Good Day!

Boead, if you hate Jobs so much (and it appears you hate Apple too), why are you here? Jobs is incredible at design, and the personal computer might not even be very popular if not for him and Woz.

Because he's a troll.

And Max, I hate to disagree with you, but Jobs pretty much isn't a designer (despite what Ive says). He's just someone with great design sense.

What gave you the idea that I hate Jobs? Some of my best friends are arrogant #######s.
And what makes you think I hate Apple? I simply said that its going to be great to run an Apple OS on a PC based machine. Hardware like the AMD 64X2 processors are very fast and cheaper the G5 – and the benefit of running 64-bit Windows software on my Macintel computer is something to be grateful for! And BTW, I don’t have an AMD computer at home, I just work on one and like it quite a bit.

Also, according to the polls taken at this forum. Windows users account for 64% with Mac only accounting for 29%.

You guys need to relax and learn to engage in conversation, not ridicule.
