Hi all

I'm having video performance issues in iTunes 7+ and maybe someone with some Windows-know-how can shed some light.

I've never been able to play videos well in iTunes 7, even with all the updates. They stutter, go out of sync, freeze, and are pretty much unwatchable.

I implemented all the suggestions on Apple's website for improving video playback, but with no improvements. I've also tried re-installing iTunes and Quicktime.

My system exceeds the minimum requirements:

AMD Sempron 3200+
ASUS mobo (nVidia)
1GB DDR2 RAM
265MB ATI Radeon 9600 AGP 8x video w/ latest drivers
250GB SATA drive w/ 16mb cache (lots of free space)

I regularly use Photoshop, Flash, etc, and I can play Doom 3 without an issue. My system is Windows XP, and streamlined with very little startup crap, no viruses or adware. With iTunes playing music I can still run my other programs fine.

Also, the same files played in QuickTime (browser plug-in or standalone player) play ok. DVD's play fine. Videos in Winamp or Media Player are fine.

I have the same issues with video podcasts, even low-resolution ones, and with "imported" videos.

On my iPod everything plays fine.

Anyone have any suggestions?
