Tv app not incrementing playcounts

When I stream a movie / TV show I've purchased on iTunes through my Apple TV, the playcount only changes if the movie or episode has never been played.

If it has been played the playcount doesn't increase.

This is only if I play it straight from the iTunes store. If I stream it from my computer the playcounts change.

Anyone else finding this?

Play counts are local only. They only track the use of the local files. Streaming from the store has no concept of play counts.
