I have updated both my ipod mini to 4.0 and my itunes with the updated 5.0.1 and yet I still can not play my purchased music on my ipod. It transfers to the ipod but once I try and select it to play it skips through each song in seconds without a sound and then returns to the menu. I also am not able to burn the purchased music to disc. PLease help I so want to hear the cool great music I bought.

The fact that music is actually showing up on the iPod suggests to me that this is more a corrupt file issue than a non-transfer because of authorization.

First try to reset your iPod (Hold down the center and menu button until you see the apple menu) Then see if songs will play. If not, and your music is completely safe on your computer, I would suggest a restore of the software and to resync your iPod

If that is not the issue, perhaps this is an authorization issue, make sure you do the following:

deauthorize your computer from the advanced menu and then reauthorize. by playing one of your purchased tunes.

make sure the about screen does show your mini software as 1.4, if not download the most recent updater.

Good luck,
Stuart

Thanks for the responce but I tried both deauthorizing and resetting the mini but to no avail. I leave abroad for a few weeks and would love to have the new music travel with me. I'm guessing this is just one of the gliches that apple hasn't addressed yet in their 5.0.1 update. I wish apple would let you download old arcived versions like 4.9 to bypass the bugs instead of just making everyone wait for them to iron out the problems. Thanks anyways.
