You must not have had real iPods before...

I have recently acquired a Classic 160GB and it works like all my previous IPods except---- I have always dragged music from my desktop into the IPod and did so this time. But I made some errors and so removed the music thinking I would drag a corrected version into the IPod. For some strange reason
I can't drag ANYTHING to the IPod now.

What might I have done wrong?

It is as thought the music on my desktop is missing some vital component and the IPod doesn't recognize it.

Please give any advice you deem fit.

Many thanks and regards,

If this is how all of your previous "iPods" worked, I'm sorry to inform you, but they weren't iPods. You can only add music to the iPod by dragging on to iTunes (and having it sync), not onto the iPod itself. This is the way every single iPod has been since the first 5GB iPod 1.0.

My 5th Gen Ipod Classic doesn't show in iTunes or Finder...

My ipod plays fine and charges fine but doesn't show in iTunes or Finder on my brand new Macbook Pro with the updated version of iTunes or my friends' PC with the updated version of iTunes. I have tried the 5 R's except for "restore" because it doesn't show in the source menu on iTunes in order for me to restore. I have tried different cords and different USB ports as well. I don't know what else to do...HELP ME!!!

@LaChide: If your friend’s itunes is not corrupt and is not picking up your ipod, then I’m sorry for the problem isn’t with the cord or software. It’s with your ipod. Either its hardware is malfunctioning or its software has gone faulty.

yea it’s cool, @LittleMiss rather informative and did like the language 
Yea I kinda agree.

Multiple album entries

Ok guys I guess that this has been asked before. I have multiple entries of Cher's "The greatest hits" and ELO's Greatest Hits on my classic. I have tried modifying the names and re syncing and it does not work.
Nineteen entries of these albums all the same names with no extra spaces no funny capitals etc etc.

Is there a fix because this is just stupid.

I have a question, is the 80GB polycarbonate iPod and all prior now referred to as iPod Classic? It seems silly to call it a video when the Nano and iPod touch play video

the new (2010) MacBook Air's have a 256 GB flash HDDin them. Do you you think the Classic will switch to a larger flash HDD in exchange for the actual disk HDD they have now?

Ipod 80gb classic has defect known to Apple

It seems Apple admits to knowing of a defect that makes this Ipod stop having sound, unless you squeeze the bottom right hand corner. They never publically admitted, nor issued a recall. They also force Ipod consumers to register with e-mail to Itunes, so they knew who, and how to contact these consumers. I seldom use my ipod, maybe 1 or 2 times a year. Yesterday this defect shut my Ipod down. Why the first tech attempted to act like he had no idea about the defect (it is easily found on the internet, yet never released by Apple), I demanded a product specialist. This one knew exactly what I was talking about but informed me Apple would no longer fix, or replace, as they had stopped doing so 120 days prior. So, Apple knows there $300 Ipods will breakdown, and instead of replacing them for what surely would cost them $25 max. the say "screw you consumer, you bought junk, and you now have useless junk. Yep we knew it would happen, hey we will give you 10% off a new Ipod- if you are really stupid enough to buy a product from a company that will sell you junk, knowing it will fail". You know what Apple? Apple the company will rot just like the fruit!

I am always on the go and whenever i am travelling I always bring two of my most important gadget. My iPod where I can listen to my favorite songs and my laptop where I can watch my favorite shows through online tv. This gadget to pass the time quickly.
