I just thought I would give me experience I had last night using the Best Buy PSP. So, as I was updating my iPod last night (a gen2 10GB), it just would not respond. The unit had a full charge and was doing great working as expected. I started having a few battery issues. So, when I plugged the iPod into the computer it would power up and just show the apple logo, so after trying a few things I decided to use the Best Buy PSP.

As I go into best buy, all I brought was the iPod and the remote. That is all I use anymore. I asked to speak with the head of the service department, and I left with a 20GB iPod minus the headphones, which they can keep. That and my PSP transferred over.

That is my story.

not so....

i went to two best buys out here and got lotsa grief. my ipod had broken and just gave me folder icon.

they said (best buy) is in the process of changing the ipod from a DEVO item (which means no service, just instant replacement) to a servicable item. they will start sending them back to apple to be serviced, and if it cant be done...then replaced. they said they've had too many people doing instant switches illigitimately (however u spell that).

looks like im movin to that compusa tap from now on...
