Syncing issue since I started using Apple Music

I decided last month to try out Apple Music since they were giving a free trial period. If anything, it seemed good way to try out some new material.

But ever since I started using the program, I can't sync any new material that I've loaded from CD's to my iPhone. I realize that anything I've tried on Apple Music would need to be downloaded to be permanently transferred to my library. But why should CD loaded albums be affected?

Yes. This is one of the side effects of Apple Music. You must upload your local music to the cloud and use Apple Music to get your music. Local syncing is disabled.

If you want your CDs to be available, you'll need to upload them (up to 25,000 tracks if I remember correctly) to Apple Music.

Local syncing and smart playlists is my typical use of iTunes, so these restrictions are the primary reason I don't sign up for these services.
