• With the number of recent threads from brand new users that we have observed in our Classifieds forum selling goods under questionable circumstances, we have instituted a new policy restricting new members of iLounge from posting new threads in the Classifieds forum until they have reached "Regular Member" status.

New users become Regular Members once they have made 10 posts and been a member of the iLounge Forums for at least 7 days. Prior to this time, members may still read the Classifieds forum, and even respond to existing threads for items being sold by other members, but they may not create new threads advertising their own items for sale.

This will hopefully help to protect our user community by discouraging fraudulent users from signing up and posting classified ads without having at least a very basic level of established membership in our forums.

Obviously all users should still exercise due diligence when making use of our classifieds forums, but we hope that this restriction will help to decrease the number of blatantly fraudulent ads that we have been seeing in recent weeks.

Please be sure to review our Classified Forum Policy for more information.

I am an expert user (usually an early adopter), but only just got my first iPod--hence some wishlist ideas.

I have encoded my large CD collection on my Mac, and can easily fill the 30 gig of the iPod. I am using smart playlists to do so. I download all my 4 or 5 star music (around 22 gig and increasing as I rip my CDs), and have a second playlist for around 6 gig of 3 star music that is least played so as to cycle them.

Since I am continuing to rip my CDs in alphabetical order, the 22 gig of must-have 4 or 5 stars is growing and I must manually decrease the 6 gig of 3 star music.

Wouldn't it be good for the size limit of the 3 star to be automatically calculated? Or how about a meta-smart playlist that in one place allows me to select all of the 4 or 5 star playlist and a balance from the 3 star playlist?

I may not understand what you are saying exactly, but I think this feature is built in. From the window you select criteria for your smarplaylists, check the box that normal says "limit to 25 songs" and change it to how many GB of information you want chosen and then it can be chosen randomly, by play count, recently or last added, etc.

Hope this helps, or if I am misunderstaning your wish please post back with what you meant.

Cheers, and good luck,

Thanks for your reply, but I think you misunderstood what I meant (or at least I was not very articulate in my request).

My wish was for this to be more dynamic. If I have smart playlist one as uncapped, I know I can set playlist two be capped at x GB, but I would love to be able to set smart playlist two to be dynamically capped at whatever is left on my iPod given the current size of smart playlist one.

I see now! Thanks.

You'd like to see smart playlists that could communicate with one another in some way.

A wish I have for smart playlist is a better filter with some ifs and thens. Right now you can only set up match any or all of the following. I want it to be able to match one and then select from multiple possibilities
