• With the number of recent threads from brand new users that we have observed in our Classifieds forum selling goods under questionable circumstances, we have instituted a new policy restricting new members of iLounge from posting new threads in the Classifieds forum until they have reached "Regular Member" status.

New users become Regular Members once they have made 10 posts and been a member of the iLounge Forums for at least 7 days. Prior to this time, members may still read the Classifieds forum, and even respond to existing threads for items being sold by other members, but they may not create new threads advertising their own items for sale.

This will hopefully help to protect our user community by discouraging fraudulent users from signing up and posting classified ads without having at least a very basic level of established membership in our forums.

Obviously all users should still exercise due diligence when making use of our classifieds forums, but we hope that this restriction will help to decrease the number of blatantly fraudulent ads that we have been seeing in recent weeks.

Please be sure to review our Classified Forum Policy for more information.

the fact that the shuffle is USB means that making attachments very easy.

i reckon i nthe near future that apple will release a USB addon which will have the Lossless encoding and all the other apple stuff, AND A SCREEN!

this way they can still keep the shuffle cheap

and if u wnat a sscreen (most people) u can get one, and thus apple makes more money

resulting in more and better products!

I was thinking about this concept this morning. I have a feeling that if it is ever done, it will look somewhat like the AAA battery extension module(only a lot slimmer since you aren't trying to fit batteries in there), except that it will fit the other way around so the flat body(w/screen) will form fit to the front of the shuffle.

I dont think losless could be an addon - the shuf. would have to feed the module the file (would take time), module would have to decode, and then feed the raw audio back over the USB. Screen would be cool, if not a bit pointless with no library

i just posted something similar to the other ipod shuffle screen discussion

what about thinking beyond an attachment that would increase the size of the shuffle?

I had a MD player in college - it had a data/headphone jack just like the one on the ipod 3G+ (i don't know how 1 and 2G ipods are set up) this meant you could plug in headphones directly or plug in a remote and plug the headphones into that.

the remote was alot like the ipod remote, but shaped like a fat cigarette... it had a screen that displayed track info and a play/pause next/back button on the end of it (a push toggled play/pause, a twist forward = next, twist back = pause)

this would retain the small size of the shuffle, and let you see what's playing in a compact device.... best of both worlds in my opinion
