Shuffle not truly random

My ipod mini does not seem to shuffle completely randomly. I notices it seems to favour certain tracks from some albums.
Has anyone else noticed this?

and i don't use the rating system so its nothing to do with that.

I'm pretty sure it get's the shuffle algorithm from the clock, so if you're listening to the same playlist at the same time every day some will be favoured more.
