Hi All,

Just saw an advert in the 'The London Paper' yesterday about some software called ShrinkMyTunes which allows up to four times the storages on your iPods.

Its available from:-

www.shrinkmytunes.com

and costs £19.99.

Has anyone used this type of thing? Does it work? Does it just compress the original files, does it make copies ot them.

I don't what to mess up all my songs, maybe try some of them first.

It seems too good to be true?

Thanks for any advice.

Cheers

CAD

it reduces the quality of the tunes, you can do the exact same thing in iTunes, save your money.

There is no magic elixer

There sure is! But due to the expenses I incurred learning its secrets, and the tremendous financial strain this has put on my family in Nigeria, I'll have to ask you for £4.99 before I can share its formula with you... <g>

Seems like ShrinkMyTunes is another entry in the low-rate mp3 encoder biz. (The mp3 specs are very strict on how to decode a file, but encoding a file is pretty much wide open to the programmer's imagination; this is someone claiming to do magic that no one else has figured out yet. [Using "NASA scientists", yet!])

Cadmann, just do some Googling...it's easy ;-) These folks thought it was OK; while over here they thought it was not terrible bad; but over here they just didn't like it.

I'd need the space pretty badly to want to use this -- in one published test, the original 192Kbps file came out at 29Kbps vbr. (Seems like some company with a big checkbook would have bought them out by now, if the encoder was all that great...)

(To answer some of your questions -- You can choose to replace files, or create new files. Apparently, you get a 14-day money back guarentee.)
