With Arctic Monkeys' forthcoming album set to become the ''Fastest selling debut rock album'' of all time, i thought i would make this thread, to highlight some other upcoming Sheffield bands.

These bands are getting heavy plays on my iTunes at the minute and i would recommend any of them to fans of the Arctics.

Milburn - Great mates with Arctic Monkeys and they always tend to get a mention in any Arctics interviews. These guys really are great and expect them to join Arctic Monkeys on the big stage in 2006

Harrisons - Having already had airplay on Radio 1, it is only a matter of time before these guys break out from the underground.

Little Man Tate - Often described as 'dirty guitar pop from the UK' i am a massive fan of this band. I see them live at York Fibbers in February.

Bromheads jacket - Another reason why Sheffield is currently the hotbed for English music. Having already toured with Arctic Monkeys, these three lads look very much like stars in the making.

Let me know what you all think.

And I wish I lived in the UK once more...

The Milburn songs aren't working, but the background music is pretty cool.

Harrisons, the singer has a strange voice but I like the music a lot and I am getting used to him.

Little Man Tate is a movie directed by Jodie Foster. Just Googled it... Music: I like them and downloaded all their demos. Cool band.

Bromheads Jacket is simply an overload of English accents combined with English slang. It's weird music. That said, I downloaded both songs :D

edit: Bromheads is probably my favorite band out of that list. For all of their free downloads go here: Click.

The download system is crap because you have to do it individually, but oh well.

edit #2: Milburn's music is available via their... I hate to say it... MySpace. http://www.myspace.com/milburnmusic. Blech. I have to imagine a lot of the other bands' music are on there too.

edit numero tres: I really like the Skeksis too. Google them or check myspace. I could only find three songs.

Thanks for the links. I've recently become addicted to the AM so I'll be sure to download some of these songs too.
