Philips HE591 = black
Philips HE592 = white

I used to own a pair of these headphones, but one of the earipieces got lost, so I couldn't use them anymore. Earlier today, I went over to Target and picked up another pair just because I missed these headphones.

I was quite surprised. Philips listened to customer complaints and now these earbuds include 2 sizes of soft rubber earpieces. One is for small - medium sized ears and the other for medium - large ears. The earpieces are somewhat short, because they are not meant to sit all the way in your ear canal like canalphones do. They are very comfortable (and IMHO, even more comfortable than the Sony MDR-EX line of earbuds.)

The sound coming out of these earbuds is unique. It uses 2 speakers to simultaneously pump out music. One is the obvious speaker located directly next to the ear, like most earbuds. The other one is on the back of the earbud. The rear speaker pumps music and it is then filtered into the ear. This provides a fuller, warmer, and almost 3-D surround sound. If you cover the rear speakers, you are left with flat sound that you would expect from any set of budget earbuds. Very surprising sound that pleases for a low price.

The sound is also perfectly balanced; no emphasis on any single range of tones.

The cord is asymmetrical, much like the Sony MDR-EX series of earbuds, and ends in a gold plated plug. It also includes a rubber case with which you can use to wind up the earphones.

All in all, if you want a good pair of earbuds with balanced "surround sound", but don't want to spend a bunch of money on them, go for these. Only $20, and well worth it.

I will post pictures later if anyone wants to see what all the stuff on and included with these earbuds looke like.

Best Buy

I just got a pair of these today.

14.95 on sale this week.

I have used 9 different types of ear buds and these have got
more booming bass than others.

Confort level is what you are willing to put up with, all I have tried have problems, Sony, Yahba, Apple, etc.

But at 15 bucks even if I can't stand them in a couple of months no major loss.
