Hi everybody. Just bought 60 GB ipod last week, absolutely love it, After uploading my 1000 cds or so I am sure that I will want to delete a couple of songs again in the future.
I'm planning on removing several CDs that are now in my iTunes library completely from iTunes library and PC, because obviously I don't want to store 60 GB of music on my PC. Don't have the space. Here's my question:
How do I later delete songs off of the iPod if that song or CD is not in iTunes anymore , (without unchecking boxes etc in iTunes etc.)
This also goes for Ratings and Artwork etc.
Can this be added without updating this in iTunes? Or would I have to upload the entire CD again just to adjust ratings or remove song from iPod?
I've read through a couple of posts and I know how to delete 'em from iPod using iTunes. I usually just uncheck the box.
As you can probably tell I am not an iPod expert yet, so any easy tips and advise is really appreciated.

Put the iPod on manual if your deleting music off of the computer to avoid erasing the iPod. You can manage it to add/remove songs, ratings, artwork, etc. when you want. Go to edit>preferences>ipod while attached to set it for manual sync. Here is a tutorial managing the ipod. See the section on manually managing songs:

If you want to continue auto sync'ing it then check the box update checked songs only. Here is the support info:
