Question about transfering songs

I'm thinking about buying an iPod photo to upgrade from my 3G iPod.

I was wondering if there is a way to transfer all my songs from my old iPod to the new one without losing play counts and info like that.

Is there? Thanks!

If your music is still in iTunes, just sync the new iPod and everything in iTunes (including play counts and info like that) will be present on the new iPod.

Judas' post is correct. Also since you mentioned them, if you want to make sure the play counts are correct, then auto sync your 3G with iTunes first as this will ensure the play count is correct (when you play a song on your iPod it will increase the play count by 1, but this change will only update in iTunes if the iPod is auto sync'ed with iTunes).

I don't have my play counts in iTunes but I would have to sync my iPod with iTunes which would put the play counts in my library then when I get the new iPod would I sync that as well or could I just drag and drop like I usually do.
