I use iTunes to manage the podcasts on my phone. I download them all to the computer, and then select which ones I want transferred to my iPhone. That helps avoid the phone memory getting filled up, and helps me know what's where. I use a lightning cable to sync.
Since the iOS 16.4.1. update (I think), syncing doesn't work properly. Immediately after a sync, they are showing on my phone, and I can play them on the phone ok. This is still working after I use the "eject" button.
But if I then close the podcast app, and then re-open it, the downloaded podcasts disappear. I can still see the "shows I follow" but when I select "downloaded", the only ones I see are the ones I manually downloaded to the phone on the phone itself.
When I plug back in into iTunes, it then resyncs the podcasts that I had asked it to copy originally. And then the cycle continues.
Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong?
I'm on an iPhone 11 and running 16.4.1. (20E252).
