I've got an iPod Nano 5th generation.

If I'm in the middle of listening to an mp3 and use the scroll wheel to "rewind" a bit, it does it, but cuts off the end of the mp3.

It's like the cursor moves back, but the true playing-time length of the mp3 is also shortened.

It's been hard to diagnose, but it's consistent. My first take is to re-initalize the iPod then reload the music.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks....

I am going to guess that the MP3 is created as Variable Bit Rate (VBR) with a low bit rate instead of VBR with a higher bit rate, Adaptive Bit Rate (ABR) or Constant Bit Rate (CBR) so the rewind may not be as accurate on VBR files.

Apparently 128 kbps with VBR can have some issues.

Lots of discussions on the forum.
