Hey guys...

I haven't been online in a while (at home) and have been using and building my music library using ITunes program.

Now that I am getting a new 80 GB IPod, I decided to get Internet at home again... When I sign onto ITunes, will it automatically update with the new ITunes program?

I am just afraid of loosing my library.

No, iTunes asks you if you want to upgrade. When you upgrade, you don't lose any of your music files and playcounts or anything. It all stays the same, just that you have an updated version of iTunes.

Rarely does the library get wiped out as a result. It happened to a few people on the lounge, but personally, I've upgraded to every version since iTunes 4.7.1, and I have never lost my library.
