I have secured a new battery for my wife's classic 30gb iPod vintage 2005. Mine classic is a couple of years older and I bought a new battery in USA many years ago in anticipation of replacing but it lasted years! I replaced it maybe 5 years ago and it is running fine. When I replaced my wife's battery it was dead next morning. I recharged fully and repeated the test and it was again dead within hours. There were no issues replacing the battery and as soon as I connected the cable the hard drive spun up so I knew it was working. Screen came up and all menus were in place. I bought the battery from a company based in Holland who specialise in batteries. Any reason why the iPod would do this apart from a duff battery before I go and make a fuss?
For the record I got a new Iphone battery locally from an approved supplier when Apple were replacing these free and that battery was pretty useless compared to the original......same with Macbook Pro. They do not last nearly as long at all but this is ridiculous.
Thanks
