Got a new iPod Nano 7th. Through playing with it, if I restore it, works awesome, screen responds to light tough, responsive, scrolls. If I sync it, even with just a gig or so, touchscreen doesn't swipe left or right, have to really press to get it to recognize, doesn't recognize all touches, becomes erratic. Have restored and synced a few times now, back to perfectly responsive when restored.

Advice? Thanks!

Is it during the syncing process when this happens or after when iTunes indicates that it's all done with your iPod?

When it's syncing you can't use the iPod. It's whenever I'm using the touchscreen. Restored, works great, sync, touchscreen becomes unresponsive.

Sounds like you have a lemon. Take it back to wherever you purchased it and exchange it for a new one. You can also take it to an Apple Store and replace it with a refurbished model but, if you're within the 14-day (or 30-day, look at the receipt for the store you purchased it from) return period, you might as well do that.

I bought it on eBay and the seller said they would refund it and ship back to them, and that's when I went to restore it and noticed the touch screen worked perfectly as long as it's untouched, as long as it has even one song there, the touch screen then will no longer work and swiping will not work AT ALL.

Thought it was the weirdest thing and got excited maybe it wasn't broken after all and there would be a way to fix it :( I did update it to the latest firmware.

So long as you're not copying over 192KHz, 24-bit lossless files, the iPod nano should not behave like that. Notify eBay and ship it back to the seller since it doesn't work.
