Hey I was wondering what can you do with that micro usb port on the back of the apple tv? I tried plugging it in and my pc said it had a power surge or something about exceeding the power specs, so i know it draws power but it doesnt show up in itunes when i power it up the right way.

Only the 2nd and 3rd generation Apple TVs had microUSB ports. (1st gen had a standard USB port, 4th gen had a USB-C port, modern ones have deleted the ports)

They were there for diagnostic purposes. Basically, if your Apple TV became bricked, you could plug it into your iTunes PC and revive it.

If yours is exceeding power specs, then there is something physically wrong with the device and use of that port can damage devices.

I don't think I damaged my port on my PC thank God. I thought you could load up stuff on the Apple TV to watch locally

Absolutely not. The only use is to update the device when it fails.
