So, the Mrs and I both have iPods and may soon have iPhones.

Both pods sync to iTunes equally (I know, it means I have some Boyzone on mine but, hey!). This is about 50Gb of songs.

With the iPhone the storage is only 32Gb, yes? Then there will need to be room for apps, etc.

Is it easy to restrict the tunes syncing differential between the pod AND differentialy between the two phones - if everything can't fit, I don't want Boyzone taking space on my phone!

It is simple. When you plug in the phone choose to "manually manage music" or something like that. Sorry, don't remember the exact verbage. Then you will have plenty of space for Beatles and no Boyzone!

Good luck.

You don't have to manually manage music. You can choose to sync specific playlists, choose to sync only specific artists, or do a combination. That's how I manage my touch, nano, iPod video, and shuffle.
