Well, all the new iPods come with a "universal dock adapter" so you can use it with a dock you buy. However, I didn't want to buy a dock. So what I did was:
1. Find Box. I used the box for an old iPod carrying case, but any box that's taller than 1.5 inches, and about a Dock size.
2. Cut hole in box to match dock adapter.
3. Use superglue or whatever to glue in dock adapter into hole.
4. Use hotglue gun to put the USB cable sticking into the dock adapter hole.
5. wrap cord inside, and plug your dock in, ready to sync.
The iPod plugs in just enough to sync, but not enough to 'lock' in, so you can simply lift your iPod when you're ready.
Cool, eh?
