i just downloaded DVD Shrink and it's a program that backs up all your DVDs in fact inrips EVERYTHING, even the bonus matereal. the main movie is named under VTS_01_0 and a AVI copy named VTS_01_1. They both play with Windos Media Plyer and that is IT! No other player can play the. like HP or Quicktime or VLC (Which i use. and the Basic YTD can not convert them into a MP4 Quicktime ipod vid. Is there a way i can bypass that. maybe if i burn it onto a blank DVD and ripp it back or what.
the thing is about 8 months ago i did have a trial version of MagicDVD Ripper. in which they will give you 5 free rips. and it worked, plays normaly, no choppy videos, no subtitles or watermarks. then whatever other movies i have on my ipod was downloded from Youtube. and then recently i thought, maybe theres another DVD ripper that will give me a free try like that. I found one that did give me one free try...but they put subtitles on it. that was, i think, maybe the catch. so now i ran into this DVD shrink, which really the sole purpose is to back up your DVDs. but i just wondered if i could end up putting the films a "backed up" on my ipod? nop. anyrate, thats my latest adventure in looking for freebies. i wouldn't mind paying if i could get in a better financial situation. (thats a whole other personal topic)

HandBrake is a good free Vedio conversion program for Macs and Windows. You can use the files already made by DVD Shrink to make iTunes and iPod compatible video. It can also be used to rip the video directly off a DVD, check their site for instructions for your particular OS. But your method of using DVD Shrink along with HandBrake will work perfectly fine.

DANG IT! Loaded Handbrake and when i tried to open it but it said my screen resolution was too low to run. It can not run on a 1280x600 screen. I need my screen the way exactly that size because i got my laptop hooked into my widescreen because of my bad vision. If it's one thing i can not change its my screen size. i need a program that is compatable with 1280x600.

Actually it's easy to find a program that you need, but most of them are not free, like this: DVD ripper?Ripping DVD to video in various common used formats on Win perfectly it cost $30, maybe you can try to find a register number from google?

I closed this thread as you have another one that covers the same topic, no need to have two threads about the same exact thing especially when your question had been answered... Multiple times.
