The tracks have to be on a CD to use join tracks option in iTunes then import them. They will appear in iTunes as one track. Then you can bookmark them. The step-by-step guide for using iTunes is here: http://forums.ilounge.com/showthread.php?t=33491

There is also software listed that you can use.

Have a look at this link and the entire forum of Books and Spoken word, esp the Sticky guides and FAQ's for audio books. If that doesn't answer, post again.

Basically, you must have in order -- click on column heading of left most column to be certain in order, all tracks highlighted, and join tracks should not be greyed out.

Gapless playback is only supported on the fifth-generation iPod with firmware v1.2 or other iPod models manufactured after iTunes 7 was released (specifically 2G iPod nano, iPod nano (with video), iPod classic, iPod touch, and iPhone).

The iPod mini will not play tracks gaplessly, regardless of the setting in iTunes (which actually has nothing to do with whether the iPod plays tracks gaplessly or not anyway -- it's merely to override the "Crossfade" setting when playing tracks directly within iTunes itself).

As I mentioned a few posts up, users with older-model iPods will still have to use the "Join CD Tracks" method to get gapless playback (which of course will really just turn an entire CD into one single long track).
