After opening iTunes I immediately get the Windows message "iTunes has stopped working" and it crashes out.

Running latest update 12.5.1.21 on Windows 8.1 Pro (64bit)

Started a couple of weeks ago previously, iTunes worked but accessing the Store caused the crash

Working fine a couple of months ago

Opens in Safe Mode (until trying to access any online info)

Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling

Any suggestions welcome

Thanks in advance

Sounds like a bad install. You are getting an access violation error, which usually means a version mismatch or something was not installed correctly.

Uninstall all Apple software (iTunes, Bonjour, Apple Mobile Device Service, iCloud, quicktime)
Download a fresh copy of iTunes https://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Install iTunes
