I'm sick of iTunes not being inovative anymore.

It does the job - but in no way does it revolutionize the way we organize and listen to our music.

Apple should be striving to push the envolope in all fields - the latest Version of iTunes could do with 100's of new features which rival music players continue to explore version by version. Dont get me wrong - I love iTunes but I think versions should have more then just updates to the music store.

Why do Video Playlists still have a Musical Note as their Icon?

Why Doesnt your music library have an innovative way of viewing your music such as a graphical layout like CoverFlow see link:

http://mac.softpedia.com/get/Audio/CoverFlow.shtml

Why cant i browse my music by Album Art?

Why cant I asign a single song to multiple albums? Songs by Rage aganst the machine should show up under the Matrix soundtrack and The Rage Album they belong to.

Win Amp - has some really slick features like fading playback. When a song is paused it fades nicely...

All i mean is Apple have fallen behind in terms of innovation. The Interface has been streamlined but no new innovative features have been added in the last 2 years...

And that is disopointing. I wish apple would take customer feedback more seriously.

you leave people a mere hour and forty minutes to reply...!?

you bring up some valid points, but no-one knows exactly what apple have in store for us except SJ and his numerous teams - at the end of the day, many of your ideas are quite complex to code for, and apple excels in providing simple answers to these types of complicated challenges.

but apple is about simplicity, especially from a user experience point of view, so unless they can be convinced that the whole 'software/hardware' package can be consistently maintained, then we may have to wait a bit longer.

yeah welll id like to see some really inovative new features in iTunes 7. Not just changes in the applestore. I want to see iTunes Being steemlined and modernised. Lets take things like Quartz Extreem into iTunes! Why shouldnt i be able to browse by Album art? And Why cant I find album art online with the click of a botton - i have a lug in that searchs amazon but apple should have this built in.

the possiblities are endless.

and with the amount of ppl on this site i expected more feedback - i guess the iTunes Mac Thread is a little dead in comparison with the New Video iPod thread.

heh, I cant even organize my music by artist - title, which is quite pathetic and not hard to code. Try Quissential player if you use a PC and just use itunes for transfering. But since there isnt a mac version it kinda sucks for me. :(

You can organize your music by artist and album easy. You may want to spend some time reading your instructions, it's not that hard.

Evidently I'm missing something here because I'm able to sort by artist - album - title and about any other way I want. If you click the Browse eyeball looking thing it brings down the panes that allow you to choose genre, artist, and album. If you click on the column headers it sorts the entire list by that column. Sometimes you have to hit a couple of different columns to get it sorted like I want it, but I haven't had any problems. I like to have mine in order by artist, album, and track number. I first sort by track number, then by album, then by artist. That puts everything in order. I have around 15000 files in my library, I have no problems sorting them. Plus I've found the search function is really helpful when I don't want to scroll through the 100 artists in my library.

I've found iTunes to be one of the best music management programs I've played with. I just had to figure out a couple of things.

Just because Doc Evils clearly doesnt know how to use his computer... doesnt mean we have to get bogged down trying to decipher what he was saying...

Doc Evils - RE INSTALL itunes - its obviously not working properly - and if thats not it - I won't dignify your statment with an explanation of how to sort your library by artist and album... childeren can do it.

Anyone got any features they'd like to see in iTunes 7.0?

Why is a program that nolonger deals exculisvly in Audio called i - TUNES?

It needs to be repalced in my opinion...

Well for that matter why is Apple still tagging "i" onto everything even thought the original meaning has gone.

The iMac meant "internet" Mac. Now you get i this that and the other, many of which have nothing to do with the net.

iLife?
iWork?

And irony of ironies, the new iMac doesn't even have a modem!

Its just a successfully established brand and they have rolled it out.

So having similarly established iTunes as a brand which even in the minds of PC users stands for easy to use software, they would be daft to abandon it.

In the eyes of the intelligent consumer - they look at the word that iis after the letter i.

The i was ambiguous - sure ppl who knew about the first imac - realized it was regarding its internet cabability. But 90% proabily have no idea.

The 2nd part of the name is what leads the consumer to understand the use of the product they are looking at.

Its Like calling iPhoto - iPainting and still saying it does photos becasue its an established brand even though the new name implys a differnet use.

I think its stupid - but what i really want is more features and innovation - the name really isnt what I really wanted to discuss here.
