I keep getting kicked out of iTunes 6 while ripping my CD's. I never had any problems ripping with any earlier versions.

I can rip for a while, then in the middle of ripping a CD, I get the Windows XP error dialog "This program has caused a problem and needs to be closed"

This is getting annoying! If I just re-run iTunes 6, I can rip that cd and a bunch of others, until it crashes yet again.

try this.......

If you have "error correction" turned on, try turning that off & see if it helps. Also, if you have 2 optical drives on the same IDE channel (even if they are set to MASTER & SLAVE), iTunes doesn't like that. For some reason they supposedly "interfere" with each other, but only iTunes. The setup works fine in other apps. What gives?

Thanks. I actually have error correction and also dual drives on the same cable.

I never used error correction before, but for some reason decided to turn on this time. I will try both of these and post back.

Thanks.

I turned off Error Correction, but this made no difference. It's really MADDENING!

Also, I"ve had the same dual drive setup with the previous versions of iTunes, and I nver had this problem.

I'll try the APPLE discussions and an email to them as well.
