Missing Files

I am actually have the same problem with my nano. the files just aren't showing up in the Audiobook section on my ipod once it is unplugged. It is an old nano, but the software should be up to date. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Alright, let's get some specifics:
1. What format are the files? MP3? AAC?
2. What is the file extension on the files? m4a? m4b? mp3?
3. How did you get the files into the Audiobook section of iTunes? iTunes 8 media type? File Extension?

My guess is that you have mp3 or m4a files and set the media type. The iPod (new or old) does not recognize media type (yet) and if you really want to see them in the audiobook section of the iPod you will have to convert them.

Personally I don't think it is worth it to bother with getting the files in the right section, unless you want the faster/slower playback. Just use smart playlists to manage the books and it works quite well with Mp3 files too.
