Someone should produce the following product: a cable with one end that plugs into the iPod and the other which offers an AC plug. With this product you could run any appliance using your iPods battery. Any comments?

just not possible - an ipod could not provide enough power to run any AC appliance (plus the battery power needs to be inverted to AC power so lots more than just a lead)

If you mean the other way around - plug a lead from AC to the ipod to charge it - you need circuitry to convert it from AC to DC and the correct volts.

I hope u didn't try this and see what happends. :)

Are u serious, or is this a slow day?

If serious, surely, u would think SOMEONE would have invented something like that to power their fridge with a flashlight, or their walkman, or... why restrict to iPod?
