I am planning on buying an 8 gig nano today to replace my ipod mini. The question I have is in plugging it into my alpine car unit - I have the original alpine that came out in 2004. Does any one know if the dock connector on the botton of the nano is the same size as the old ipods? If not, is there some kind of attachment I can get so that it will fit the dock wire? I currently can attach both my ipod mini and my 60 gig photo ipod without a problem.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

A dock connector port is a dock connector port. It's the same size on all iPods. As long as you're not getting it confused with a firewire port, then you should be all set. A dock connector port looks like [=======] while a firewire port looks more like [-=].

yes , i'm referring to the dock connector port. I just wasn't sure if the size for the dock connection might have decreased with the new dimensions of this generation of ipod, thanks.
