I have an Ipod Nano 7th Gen that I can't get to work with Windows It will charge if I connect it directly to a wall charger and Windows did recognize it in the past. I've reinstalled itunes twice, reinstalled the drivers, connected the iPod directly to the computer without anything else connected and I've tried different cables.
It shows in device manager with an exclamation point. It won't even charge when connected to the computer.
Any help will be appreciated!!

I have a 7th gen nano and it worked well with Windows 7 and Windows 10.

Which version of Windows are you using? If Windows 10, did you get iTunes from the Microsoft store or the iTunes download site?

The first step, believe it or not is to reboot Windows.
If that does not fix it, then Apple has some steps documented: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204095

If that does not work, you may be able to fix it by hand:

Open Device Manager (in Control Panel)
Click the + sign next to Universal Serial Bus Controllers.
Click the + sign next to each:
Imaging Devices
Other Devices
Portable Devices
Universal Serial Bus Controllers
Find the USB device with the yellow bang.
Right click it and choose Properties
Click on install Driver (not sure what it will say going from memory)
Choose, Browse My computer for driver software
Click on Let me Pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
Uncheck Show compatible hardware
-- You can try to see if Apple is in the manufacturer list.
-- If it is, then choose Apple Mobile Device USB Driver
--- If it is not, Click Have Disk
--- Then Browse to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers and select usbaapl64
--- or if there isn't a Drivers folder, look in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers and select usbaapl64, then Click OK
Click Next
Then Click Finish.
Reboot
