Please choose the appropriate forum for this topic. Thank you. Well, it's nearly a year since I purchased an iPod shuffle and pretty much that's been almost exclusively used since then on my frequent business trips to London.
To be sure, the single most frustrating thing is not being able to easily cue up a piece of music when the mood takes, but then I knew this before I bought the thing.
So last week, after buying - yes - an actual, physical CD, and ripping it onto the iBook I decided to charge, sync, and pack my trusty Gen 1 iPod, mechanical scroll wheel, scuffs, scratches and all.
You know what? I'm in love with my iPod all over again! To simply mull over the track listings while listening to something else... I love the simplicity of the Shuffle; it's 'chuck-in-a-bag-ableness' and utter determination not to show anything other than a green LED... but I was missing the interaction with the device, with the music.
Random is fine when you have an already established musical clique, ready to be listened to at the discretion of a machine, but new albums demand sequential play - not impossible on the Shuffle, but too much effort on my part.
My clunky, funky old iPod not only drew some looks on the Tube (it's a lot bigger than a nano!) but the battery lasted at least 5 hours!
Just thought I'd share that with you folks.
