yeah, just use it and it should work fine.

I honestly think that stuff is all bull#### because when I bought my iPod first i never fully discharged it for like 4 months and got at least 12 hours of battery life.

I always use mines till it dies but its just a habbit. I usually do it with all my devices that dont have an easy replaceable battery. But what the hell just use it.

Why cant Apple just use ####in batterys that Sony use, instead we have to ####in do charge cycles and all that bull####. I love iPod's but thats the only downside to them. The last MP3 player i had was a Sony Network Walkman, the battery said 20 Hours on the box, and it never went dead on ever, and i had over a year. I wish Sony and Apple would make an iPod togther lol.

When i get my 5G for Xmas, im gonna:

01. Open The Box
02. Plug it into my PC and start transfering my Libary
03. after its done transfering (4 or 5 hours :( ive got over 17GB on iTunes lol) ill charge it until its full.
04. Enjoy.

I have 18 gigs on iTunes. I just transfered it, and it took less than an hour.
Hmm..it appears my battery is already fully charged.
Oh well...I'll charge it for another 4 hours or so.

don't worry about charging it fully.

don't let it discharge if you don't have to.

bye the warrenty? u mean ipods dont come with one?

i thought they had a year warrenty
Yes, iPods do come with a year of AppleCare. But if you purchase the extension of AppleCare to two years, which, incidentally, is the same price as a battery replacement, then it will cover the battery and everything else for a total of two years. Then you don't have to worry about the battery at all. It's totally worth it.

@ young ge
ya it took me less than an hour for my 16 gigs, i got a 3.2 ghz processor, 2 gig ram, but i dont think that matters i think its all in the usb port. Do you have 1.0 or 2.0 because 2.0 is way faster.
