Hi Guys, I have some questions but first things first, I have a new Mac Mini M4, I tryed to mount my classic 3rd gen but it will not show up. I have finder options set to show CD, DVD and ipod.

Should I be seeing the ipod ? I am using a 30 pin to usb and am wondering if the cable is bad...

Thanks

It really should show up, in my opinion. I would definitely try a different cable. Preferably Apple Branded (hard to find) or an Apple Certified cable. These should have the chip in the cable to allow them to work.

Here are the first few on Amazon I saw with lots of positive reviews

MIRAREED

I have not used these, as I still have several of the old Apple cables in my box of cables and it is rare I get a question on 30-pin devices.

Thanks for the reply, I grabbed a cable from an old ipad and it works !

And to my surprise it shows in apple music, and a bigger surprise it appears to be syncing, Fingers crossed the end result is good..
