I have an iPod Classic 5.5 Gen that I got from a friend and when I plug in a 30 pin cable it doesn’t turn on and it makes a buzzing sound. I put another battery in it and it still won’t work. I disconnected the hard drive to see if that was the source of the buzzing but it’s not. Is there a way to fix it or is my iPod fucked?

Logic would say that if the 30-pin connector and power causes buzzing, then the power delivery part of the board is probably the issue. You may be able to find parts or a broken screen iPod that you could scavenge parts from to resolve it.

Ok, thanks, I’ll buy an old broken 5.5 Gen and use the board or buy a board from Elite Obsolete. That explains what’s wrong.
