I created a playlist on my new iPod touch, this had about a 60 songs . I plugged iPod into computer to do backup, some how iTunes added another playlist to my iPod with multiple duplicates of songs in my original playlist plus extra ..., 12132 songs 807 hours of music.. I just want to deleate this second Playlist without deleating the songs in the first Playlist .... there doesn’t seem to be a easy way to delete the second playlist without deleating songs in first Playlist .. any help appreciated.

This sounds like you are using Auto-Sync (instead of manual sync).

In this case you just need to disable the syncing of the large second playlist.
  • Plug in the iPod into iTunes
  • Click on the iPod in the button bar
  • Click on the Music section in the top left side of iTunes
  • You should see a check mark in Sync Music.
    • Make sure that Automatically fill space with songs is not checked.
      • If it was checked, this is the problem.
    • If Automatically fill space with songs is not checked, then you will need to find the playlist in the Playlist section and uncheck it.
  • Click on Sync to remove that playlist and leave your original playlist.
