I have this 5G iPod classic since new. And recently I decided to resurrect it. New battery, new SD adapter (iflash). And after restoring it on iTunes, it worked perfectly fine. Now recently, it went through a cycle of going between very low battery screen and the apple support screen. I've tried everything, different battery's, doing those disk mode and trying to get iTunes to detect it that way I can format it and restore it. And different cables. So many things I could find online. But it just keeps doing it. I'm actually on the fence of just throwing this troublesome little thing away. Also when it goes into disk mode, it ends up going out of disk mode on its own. I'm very frustrated with this iPod. It's also got a new logic board as well. But I'm probably going to throw the thing away soon if I can't get it fixed. Any help would be heavily appreciated if it means to stop this from going into the garbage.

Make sure the hold switch isn’t activated. If the hold switch is on, the iPod will ignore any input on the click wheel and refuse to do anything.
