I had to send an open box CD Changer back because the tray was loose and it was defective, so I was thinking of hooking up my iPod to my receiver in my bedroom. I think if I recall correctly, I attach the iPod to the dock and take that cord and plug it into the USB jack on the back of my receiver. I think this would supply power to my iPod?

But then I have another cord which has an eighth inch plug on one end with two RCA plugs on the other end. So I take the eighth inch plug and insert it into the jack on the dock, and then take the RCA plugs and hook them up to where?

On the back of my receiver it says this:

Video in
Component in
Phono
TV
CD
STRM Box
Game
CBL/Sat
BD/DVD

Can anyone help me out?

I have used CD (red and white ports) but, you will have to turn the volume up on the iPod quite high to hear it, not full volume as that will make the sound fuzzy.

Okay. I've been getting an error message with iTunes though. Says "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes store..."

There is nothing wrong with my internet connection at all. The one YouTube solution I tried did not work.

Then when I installed the latest version of iTunes the setup program didn't even send a shortcut to my desktop.

I could not even locate iTunes in Program Files either. Really dumb.

The only way I could locate iTunes was to do a search for it.

What operating system? I am assuming Windows 11.

Are you sure that is a legitimate copy of iTunes? Hopefully you got the latest version from Apple.

I can’t get to the Apple link on mobile, but the Microsoft link is https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9pb2mz1zmb1s?hl=en-US&gl=US

Looks like Apple has moved everyone to the Microsoft version.
