How do you disable keyboard shortcuts in iTunes?

iTunes version: 12.11.0.26

Issue: Every time I am searching through my library using the search bar on the top right, a letter in the string I'm searching for triggers an opening of an iTunes menu or highlighting something within the menus. When I say menu, I mean the top left (File, Edit, Song, View, Controls, Account, Help). It is quite annoying.

Question: Is there a way to disable the keyboard shortcuts for activating these menus/highlights while I'm using the search the library function?

I am not seeing that behavior. I only see that happen if I have the ALT key pressed then type a letter from the menu.

Do you have a key stuck on your keyboard? You would see the same behavior in other programs like the browser.
