How come I can't update?

Everytime I try to update my firmware to version 2.0.1 I get a message saying that I should close whatever application is using my Ipod, but I don't have anything else open except for the Ipod Updater? WTF? can someone assist me?

I think it's referring to the fact that there are two iPod-related services running... If you go to the Task Manager (Ctrl-Alt-Delete), you can close the iPod Manager and then the iPod Services services... this may allow you to run the updater, but I'm not sure if you can still run it if the iPod Manager isn't running.

You're not going to be able to update anyway. Because your iPod has 2.0 on it already.

When the new firmware comes out, you'll download a new Updater. That updater will have the 2.01 (or whatver version# it is) firmware in it. Update will become available then.

Right now, you'll only be able to do a Restore.

If you're getting that error still (because you want to restore), make sure there are no other programs (like anti-virus) accessing the iPod. Shut any programs down that might be accessing the disk.
