Hi there guys! I'm new here so please forgive me if I make any mistakes. Ok, so the problem is that I want to be able to watch a video from my computer, on my TV, while having it on my iPod. I have the cables, and I tried it with a video at the resolution 320 x 240 and it had terrible quality on my 32" LCD. On my iPod however, it displays perfectly (I'm using Videora btw). So I decided to make a new profile on Videora, in which I had a resolution of 640 x 360. The image quality was fine - watchable but I would have preferred a bit better quality, but the problem occured when I connected it to my TV.

Once again the video quality was fine, but the image of the video was stretched so I couldn't see the right side and the left side. The video I was converting was 21.9 Mb and had an original resolution of 640 x 480. I converted the file to .mp4, with the mode being MPEG-4 > CBR, resolution as being 640 x 360, bitrate as 640kbps, framerate as 29.97 fps, and the passes as One. The audio was fine. Does anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong here or any other settings? Help would really be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Kartik

Stretching the image is the problem. Of course it will look great on the ipod the screen size it's only 2 inches which 16 times smaller than your TV. Your not going to get great video from your ipod to your TV sorry.

I am confused by your original post of...

I want to be able to watch a video from my computer, on my TV, while having it on my Ipod.

So in other words you are connecting your Ipod to your computer which is connected to your TV? If the outputs go from your computer to your TV then I am not sure why you would want to do this. I assume that I misunderstand what you meant. On the other hand you may simply wish to use your Ipod as a storage device. If this is the case I would simply "enable disk use" under your Ipod preferences in Itunes and save the uncompressed file directly on your Ipod as if it was just a hard drive. Then access your Ipod under "my computer" and click on the file you wish to play. It will then play as if it was any other file on your computer.

Heck if you have enough room you can do both! In other words, you can have a copy that will play on your Ipod and one that is saved as if it is a hard drive and can only be accessed on a PC. I often times add files to my Ipod as if it was a hard drive and then update the file back onto it with Itunes. In other words I have two copies, one of which I can play off of the Ipod and one that I can only access through a separate PC. I do this for two reasons. One reason is storage space as I do not have a lot of extra space on my PCs drive and the other reason is that I can more easily share these files with friends or add them to other computers.

Yes, I do know that there is software that will do similar things so thanks but please save your breath as this way works fine for now!

Sorry I didn't make it clear enough... I basically meant that I would like it if I could watch a video on my iPod, on my TV. I have the dock and have connected it to a TV, but the image seems all stretched. Any help available?
