I have an Iskin Evo3 for my 5th gen. I really love it because i feel it's safe if i would happen to drop it. I'd get the new iskin, but it has had some bad reviews and I also don't think i would get it in time for Christmas(is the shipping still being delayed).

Ive been looking into hard ones. How do these things hold up on drops? I would think they wouldn't be near as safe, they look like they would crack easily, or not absorb the shock as well.

I wish contour would release the showcase. I had one for my 3rd gen, and all though it's thick, i got the best of both worlds with plastic and rubber.

I would assume the clear acrylic platic cases would either shatter or split open into the two original halves.

They seem to be more for surface protection rather than drop protection.

Contour did release it, weeks ago. The Apple stores and Smalldog carry them. Its not up on the Countour website but you can call them and they will verify its been out for some time.
