Someone is trading me their Touch for my iPod video. I don't use the video and I lust for new tech. Already have 8 gig 2G Nano, 4 gig 3G Nano, and 1 gig 2G iPod Shuffle. I get to see it before agreeing to the swap, so condition is of no concern.

So what do you think? If everything goes well, swap's on Wednesday! :)

That is a pretty good trade. Even if they are both slightly used, let's look at the costs. A 16GB iPod touch goes for $399 while a 80GB iPod classic goes for $249, the 5.5G 80GB iPod can be purchased for about $199. I am not sure which 80GB iPod you have but either way, you will be making $150-$200 on the deal. Just make sure you examine every aspect of the iPod touch including the screen and the metal backing. Make sure there aren't any scratches.

Well Amazon has the 16 gig iPod Touch for $349/$369 depending on whether it comes with the extras (I'm assuming it doesn't). Mine is in like new condition, never left its case, made it to the case as soon as it made out of the packaging. I have the 5.5g non-Classic.

A 5.5G 80GB iPod can be purchased for around $150-$200 so yeah, that is a very good trade considering that you are getting a much newer iPod model without having to pay extra. That is like trading in a 2007 Mustang to get the 2008 Mustang GT without having to pay extra.
