Well,

I have decided that iTunes is not the iapp I want to mess with anymore. After having database problems, slow ripping speed, slow UI and generally bad performance. I want to revert back to MC9. This scares me a little I really do not want to loose my tunes. When I originally installed iTunes, I did not let iTunes organize my music. I am guessing that if I uninstall iTunes and reinstall MC9 then everthing will be gellin like Magellin. Am I true to assume this?

I was going to try iTunes the other day and I opened it up and said "um... yeah. I'm going to stick with MC9" But today I might take another look at it. I think once they fix all the bugs it will be ok.

Yeah I think if you uninstall iTunes then reinstall MC9, you should be fine.

You'll be fine. The one thing I suggest though is that you start from a freshly restored iPod as iTunes puts a bunch of files on there and changes the iPod's database.

I must be stupid, because I got my directory structure changed, and most of my mp3's renamed. I'm in day four of trying to put my harddrive back together again, so I'd be very careful what you import, and make sure you read every dialog box.

I really would like to charge Apple for the mess iTunes caused.

Bill:

Can't you just use MC9 to reorganize your tunes? Using the Rename Files From Properties feature? You can customize it so it pretty much does anything you want.

Just wondering....if you're tags aren't right, then I understand why you're having such a problem.

Oh, that's right, you have all those Japanese songs don't you.... :D

Yup, I now have lots and lots of songs named 01 - ____.mp3. Windows XP and every other program I have used to sync my iPod has been able to handle them, so I don't know why iTunes can't. BTW I really needed to clean up my files anyway, and this is now a great reason to do it, but still, renaming your files is, well, way wrong. iTunes should have warned me that they were about to rename my files, IMHO.
